Prior to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the rumor mills were churning about Garfield and Maguire’s involvement in the film. Keen-eyed fans claimed to have spotted them on set, while others claimed to have found leaked images that featured the actors from the popular flick. All the posters for Spider-Man: No Way Home have featured Tom Holland’s web-slinging hero, until now. Holland is joined by Garfield and Maguire’s version of the character in the new poster, along with the much-loved Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock.

Sony Pictures shared the new poster on social media while encouraging fans to “finish [their] summer with Spider-Man: No Way Home,” as the film returns to theaters “with more fun stuff on September 2.” The post confirmed that tickets are already on sale, but fans were too focused on the fact that the three generations of Spider-Man finally shared space on the poster. Apart from the three main actors and Cox, the busy poster also features Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Benedict Wong, Rhys Ifans, Thomas Haden Church, Tony Revolori, Angourie Rice, J.K. Simmons, and the mechanical arms of Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock.
Even though fans expected Maguire and Garfield to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it was still a cheer-worthy moment for many. The film brought back Maguire’s Spider-Man from Sam Raimi’s original trilogy, along with Garfield’s version of the hero from The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. They were united with Holland’s version of the character, who is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man. The film received raving reviews from both fans and critics and went on to break several records at the box office. Considering the film’s success, Sony decided to release an extended version of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is confirmed to have 11 minutes of additional footage.
Spider-Man: No Way Home also marked Cox’s entry into the MCU as Daredevil. Ever since Netflix’s Daredevil series was canceled, fans had been urging Marvel Studios to include Cox’s Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in the MCU. After seeing Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in Hawkeye, fan campaigns returned to the surface, and their pleas were finally heard. Even though Cox’s appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home is simply a cameo, it reassured fans that they would be seeing more of the character in the MCU moving forward.
