In a recent tweet, Insomniac Games confirmed that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will feature an optional 4K/60 frames per second Performance Mode, where the game will be locked in at 4K resolution and 60 FPS. Since this is an optional feature in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, it insinuates that the game will have other visual options available to players as well. Speculation points to the possibility of lower resolution with a higher frame rate or vice versa, but specific details are unavailable at the time of this writing.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales looks to be the PS5’s big holiday game this year, though fans shouldn’t expect it to be a full-fledged experience on the same scale as the Spider-Man PS4 game. Spider-Man: Miles Morales is similar in scale to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy according to the game developers, so it will be a much shorter game when compared to its predecessor.
However, Spider-Man: Miles Morales being shorter doesn’t mean it won’t be a quality experience. In fact, it’s possible that the shorter playtime may mean that the game cuts out a lot of the filler content that typically plagues open world games, resulting in a better-paced story. The developers have also promised that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will tell a complete story for the title character, and one has to imagine it will also have big implications for the upcoming Spider-Man 2 as well.
Some may have expected Insomniac to move forward with Spider-Man 2 instead, but it looks like that game is going to be a long way off. Spider-Man: Miles Morales seems like the perfect way to tide fans over, especially since Insomniac’s next game is going to be Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
More information on the Spider-Man: Miles Morales release date and other performance features should become available in the months ahead.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will launch for the PS5 in 2020.
