If US proposals go ahead the new Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) will widen the definition of what constitutes a terrorist act and the Bush administration’s authority to track communications will be expanded. Low-level computer crimes such as intrusion into company networks by outside parties would fall under the jurisdiction of the ATA. Civil liberties group the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) said that computer intrusion is already a crime under other state laws but the ATA will elevate the status of illegality to a “federal terrorism offence”....

As it turns out, the map of the PS4-exclusive Spider-Man will be substantially larger than a recent notable open-world project from Insomniac Games. Spidey becomes the second announced post-launch DLC character coming to Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ superhero game, following Hawekeye’s reveal last week during the War Table stream. In a blog post on the official PlayStation site, Jeff Adams Associate Art Direct at Crystal Dynamics gushed over being able to bring Spider-Man to life in this new game. “This is so personal for me because I cannot remember a time when I didn’t love Marvel and its colorful characters, each more real and believable than the next,” Adams wrote....

But the latest two VGA trailers feature something else: QR Codes that are quickly flashed on screen, which reveal URLs when decoded. Heading to the sites given doesn’t reveal much, but are starting to paint a delightfully terrifying picture. The first QR code can be found in the same video that revealed the initial ‘Infected’ warning. Decoding that QR provides a URL that leads to a site featuring nothing more than the words ‘Look Closer’ and ‘Murder....

According to Ubisoft, the Splinter Cell remake will make sure that the game retains the identity of Sam Fisher’s original adventure, but with some changes. There will be big graphical updates, quality of life improvements, and things of that nature, but the game will still be a linear stealth game. Almost all new Ubisoft games nowadays are open world in some capacity, but the Splinter Cell remake will not be open world as previously rumored....
